Dear Travel Doctor: What’s the best way to take my passport information with me on a trip so I have it in case my passport is lost? - Justin Case
Dear Justin: The Travel Doctor has catapulted into the modern age with RoboForm2Go ($49, www.roboform.com), a little USB key with password-protecting software. Nobody but you can access the information on it, and it never leaves a trace of your passwords or information on any computer you plug it into.
You can input all passport and credit card information in case you need it in an emergency.

Dear Travel Doctor: I don’t know much about the Internet. When I tried to use it to book a flight to Florida, the computer froze so I hit the button a few times.
When I got my credit card statement, I saw Spirit Airlines had charged me $171 twice for the same flight on the same day, plus $210 for another flight to New York.
When I called Spirit, they said they could only give me vouchers, not a refund. How can I get my money back? - Puzzled Nun
Dear Puzzled: Normally, the Travel Doctor would tell you to pursue your dispute with an airline’s customer service department.
However, Spirit’s customer service problems are well documented.
In 2007, the U.S. Department of Transportation got 552 consumer complaints against Spirit Airlines even though it flies only 185 departures daily. (In comparison, the nation’s largest airline, Southwest, had only 266 complaints-and flies 3,300 departures a day.) Spirit had the sixth highest complaint record of any airline last year .
Instead, the Travel Doctor advises calling your credit card company if you used a credit card to book the tickets. Dispute the duplicate ticket and the $271 New York ticket.
(Note to readers: Puzzled has since called to say that the advice worked. The credit card company immediately credited her the duplicate charge and is disputing the other charge with Spirit.)
