Police Kill Driver

Police shot and killed a man who was leading them on a high-speed chase on I-84 in East Hartford Saturday.

As Hartford and East Hartford police were chasing the man’s vehicle he rammed police cars, injuring as many as six officers, and threatened other motorists.

The eastbound section of the highway from exits 56 to 59 was expected to be closed to traffic until at least 6 a.m. today as investigators from the state police major crime and accident reconstruction squads collected evidence and tried to sort out the sequence of events.
