Try to check on the welfare of the caller.These are standard procedures at the Old Saybrook Police Department and across the state when questionable or unresolved 911 calls are handled by the dispatch center.They are procedures that weren’t followed after a man in Old Saybrook dialed 911 on Nov. 30, according to town police officials. Two days later, the caller and a housemate were found dead in their home on North Meadow Road.
