`Spring Awakening’ Gets Ready to Tour

NEW YORK - “Spring Awakening,” last season’s big Tony-winning musical, is hitting the road.The show, which won eight 2007 Tony Awards including best musical, officially opens its North American tour Sept. 4-Oct. 12 at the Curran Theatre in San Francisco. It will play a pre-tour engagement Aug. 15-31 at San Diego’s Balboa Theatre.Other cities on the show’s route include Washington, Baltimore, Toronto, Seattle, Portland, Ore., Houston, Tempe, Ariz., Louisville, Ky., East Lansing, Mich., and Tampa, Fla. Other venues will be announced later.
