Six months ago, if you had asked Florida’s Tim Tebow what he would have thought about spending the first of the year in Orlando, he probably would have figured it would be to visit Walt Disney World after winning MVP of the BCS Championship Game. But before you can wish upon a star, the Gators’ quarterback will be leading Florida into the Citrus Bowl to take on Michigan on New Year’s Day. Not exactly where the Heisman Trophy winner expected to be playing, but it’s better than playing in the Independence Bowl. For Lloyd Carr, this game signifies the end of his tenure at Michigan. Waiting in his shadow: Rich Rodriguez, hired away from West Virginia to rebuild the struggling Wolverines program.
